Carisma RCT was Initially contracted to consult the three Shetland-based Engineering and Fabrication companies and support them establish a joint venture, defining organisational structures, working procedures, partnership agreement and a 5-year business plan.

Along the project, acknowledging our skills and experience, the original clients invited Carisma RCT to become partners in the new venture, with the overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and development of the company as well as Supply Chain Management and continuous improvement.

ZE1 GLOBAL LAUNCHES TO PUT SHETLAND BACK ON THE MAP

Three leading engineering and fabrication companies based in Shetland have joined forces with supply chain and business improvement experts Carisma RCT, to form a new joint venture, ZE1 Global.

It is set to help position the islands firmly at the heart of the energy sector in the North Sea, combining more than 100 years of fabrication, engineering and marine excellence from Ocean Kinetics, Malakoff and LEF, with vital expertise in supply chain and project management brought to the venture from Carisma.

Together as ZE1 Global, the individual expertise of the four separate organisations will combine for the benefit of all to provide large-scale, specialist engineering and fabrication for major projects from Shetland, from a location that ideally positions it as central to all operations in the UK Continental Shelf.

The new company has specifically been created to attract investment into Shetland, with the aim of becoming the main sub-contractor of choice for major engineering and fabrication turnkey solutions to the oil and gas, renewable energy, utility, marine and decommissioning sectors.

Ocean Kinetics, Malakoff and LEF will continue to operate independently on local projects but will collaborate as ZE1 Global in order to facilitate larger international energy contracts, such as those off West of Shetland.

With industry leading quayside facilities in Shetland and a base in Aberdeen, ZE1 Global will provide an increased number of skilled personnel, on-the-ground resources that are closer to the action and more efficient working, particularly due to the reduced vessel steaming time to many major new developments.

In addition to this, Carisma’s understanding and management of the supply chain blends global industry best practises with genuinely innovative new processes and technologies to ensure that every project is managed to a consistently high standard, delivered on time and within budget.
